The defense once again stood tall and forced the Bears into a 3-and-out and punt to the 9-yard line. From there, Dalton looked immediately to Green on a deep comeback route and squeezed it in over two Bears defenders. After a couple of first down passes to Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifet, Dalton threw a 45-yard TD bomb to Green to give the Bengals their first lead of the 2013 season.
After another Bears 3-and-out, the Bengals couldn’t get a drive going before the half, and after Kelvin Huber’s ensuing punt went out-of-bounds near midfield, a personal foul by Dre Kirkpatrick for shoving a player out-of-bounds put the ball at the CIN-44 with 42 seconds left in the half. The Bengals defense would stand strong though, and Robbie Gould hit a 58-yard field goal to cut the score to 14-10 at the half.
