Although Dalton did throw the two interceptions, he finished the day going 26 of 33 for 282 with 2 touchdowns. That is a completion percentage of 78.7%, highest among all week one starters and finished with a 91.8 ESPN total QBR, second only behind Andrew Luck. Dalton moved the offense up and down the field on long sustained drives leading to points. Also, Dalton had no problem with the deep ball, connecting with AJ Green 9 times for 157 yards and both touchdowns.

As the season continues, the Bengals defense should play better and get more pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The offense played very well and was very efficient moving the ball with all the new weapons and Dalton may have played one of his best games as a pro. In this loss, the Bengals made some big mistakes; big enough to lose the game, but these mistakes are correctable. Look for the Bengals to bounce back on defense against a crippled Steelers offensive line, and look for Andy Dalton to have a repeat performance, minus the turnovers, in week two.
