6. Turnover Battle
While the Bengals committed three turnovers against the Bears, the defense produced two turnovers this week at crucial times. The Steelers were driving down the field and were going to be on the Bengals 16 yard line, but Adam Jones stripped the ball from tight end David Paulson. That helped change the game as the defense stopped the offense in the red zone.
Later in the game, the Steelers were trying to have a comeback late in the 4th quarter. Ben threw a pass slightly behind Jericho Cotchery and as it tipped off of his hands, safety Reggie Nelson was there to pick off the pass with one hand. Just as Reggie Nelson ended the Steelers season last week, he ended a comeback from the Steelers offense. Turnovers helped stop momentum that the Steelers were gaining, and the defense must continue to produce turnovers for this offense throughout the year.
