After getting shut-out of contention for a weekly award in Week 2 after his breakout performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, the NFL didn’t overlook the rookie running back out of North Carolina twice, as Giovani Bernard also received a nomination for  the Pepsi Next Rookie of the Week award.

Bernard rushed for 50 yards and scored a touchdown while adding four catches for 49 yards in leading the Bengals to a 34-30 victory, and has been crucial to the team’s 2-1 record.
