Fan Survey: Is Andy Dalton the Bengals’ Quarterback of the Future?

2 of 3

“He’s way too inconsistent and is overthrowing easy targets, but he does get the job done in the red zone”

-Ryan Rider

“Andy Dalton is a good quarterback. The biggest issue is his being inconsistent. He will have one great game, then next week he will have a bad game. I’m a fan of Andy Dalton, however, he has some major issues that he needs to address to become a better QB.

1) Dalton needs to get his confidence up and trust the offense line protecting him.

2) Dalton seems to be scared lately every time he has the ball.

3) Dalton needs to move around and out of the pocket until he has someone open to throw the ball and not rush the play so quickly.

4) Dalton needs to learn how to run with the ball. Also, there is no “I” in team and our offense lines have some holes due to injuries. I don’t only blame Dalton; I blame the whole offense team. Can Dalton take us to the playoffs? Yes. Can Dalton win a Super Bowl? No.”

I’m ready to trade.”

-Jeff Card

Andy Dalton is mediocre, and isn’t our quarterback [of the future]. Yes, he took us to two playoffs, but he is not our guy. He took two steps back.”

-Kenneth Mclaughlin

Terrible. Just terrible. He isn’t the answer and we now see it. Tethered with Jay’s terrible calls and Andy’s overthrowing and having tunnel vision on green. We got him weapons and he still can’t make anything happen. After two playoff losses, I’ve defended him a lot but now I see it like everyone else. Dalton isn’t the guy. Poor deep ball throwing skills. Can’t hit an open man, and he he just isn’t the answer.”
