Michael Johnson has been a force on the defensive line through the first month of this season, and he even earned a spot on the honorable mention list in the Pro Football Focus Team of the Month at defensive end.
Needless to say, his presence has helped the Bengals defense ranks among the NFL’s elite, and having him to put pressure on Tom Brady this Sunday will be crucial in defeating the unbeaten New England Patriots.
That is, however, if he is able to suit-up after he suffered a concussion during Sunday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns:
The loss of Johnson would hurt even more with Robert Geathers sitting on the Injured Reserve list, which leaves Margus Hunt as the only backup DE, assuming Wallace Gilberry gets the start Sunday.
That, or Mike Zimmer may play linebacker James Harrison at DE.
Don’t rule out adding a DE off of the free agent market this week either.
