Marvin Lewis kicks Jermaine Gresham out of game

It may have just been a coincidence, but this is certainly something to watch.


The Bengals got off to a hot-start against the Detroit Lions today, but after taking an early 7-0 lead, it’s gone downhill ever since. The next Lions offensive possession saw them drive into the redzone, and two plays before they scored a touchdown, cornerback Leon Hall suffered a serious achilles injury.

Since then, the Bengals had one productive drive that had them in field goal range, but an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty by tight end Jermaine Gresham cost them 15 yards and eventually led to a missed 47-yard field goal by kicker Mike Nugent.

Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis was so angry with Gresham that he actually kicked the starting TE out of the game:
