Now that the game against the Lions is over, with the Bengals securing a 5-2 record, let’s take a look at some player grades for the game. We’ll look at seven players.

Andy Dalton:

Dalton thew for 372 yards and three toucdowns, just beating out Stafford in the passing game. However, what these stats don’t show is that he was far more accurate than his Lions counterpart, completing 24 of his 34 passes. He was finally able to connect with A.J. Green, and distributed several passes to Gresham, Jones and Eifert as well. The only negative critique is that he underthrew a few passes to Green.

Grade: A

Jermaine Gresham:

Gresham managed four catches, and was second on the team in receiving yards, but that also doesn’t take into account his two penalties that almost cost Cincinnati the game. His first was an unsportsmanlike conduct call in which he threw his arms up at the referee following an altercation with a Lions defender. It was a very stupid penalty, and it led to a missed field goal by Nugent. The second was an offisides call that resulted in a Bengals punt. The catches certainly didn’t make up for these mistakes in my mind.

Grade: D+
