Carlos Dunlap:

BLOCKED FG! The man who just signed a new contract with the Bengals is proving he was worth every penny. He has been one of the most effective pass rushers on the defensive side of the ball for Cincinnati, and he has brought pressure all season. He came through when the Bengals needed him the most against Detroit, as he helped the Bengals secure the win.

Giovani Bernard:

The rookie running back has found his way into the Bengals spotlight this season, averaging over 4.5 yards a carry. He has also become a catching force out of the backfield. While he didn’t necessarily generate a lot of yards against the Lions, he did make one or two key plays that extended drives. One of his most important plays was setting up Nugent’s game-winning kick with a catch in the middle of the field.

Vontaze Burfict:

Although he’s been relatively solid all season, you could see several missed tackles by Burfict in the game. Although he isn’t alone in this accusation, he was one of the players on the defense that stood out. I saw him dive at players’ feet and miss more than once. He’s going to have to play better in the middle if he doesn’t want to get eaten up by the tight ends. Opposing quarterbacks will be taking note on the tape.

Grade: C
