NFL: Trying to recap a Sunday full of gruesome injuries

It felt like one of the scarier NFL Sundays in a while after player after player went down with serious injury, most of which were of the season-ending caliber.

The St.Louis Rams have likely lost quarterback Sam Bradford to a torn ACL, and they probably won’t be signing Tim Tebow to be his replacement. As of now, Kellen Clemens is the backup and likely starter going forward.

The Houston Texans lost Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Cushing to a torn LCL and broken leg. It’s a very unfortunate injury for Cushing, who’s already having a nice bounce-back season after last year’s season-ending ACL-tear.

Bengals cornerback Leon Hall likely has a torn Achilles Tendon, but the official word likely won’t come out until later today.

After suffering a scary concussion yesterday, Jermichael Finley’s agent tweeted that “football doesn’t matter right now” on Sunday night. Finley had a scary head injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over the Browns just weeks after having a concussion vs the Bengals.

The Philadelphia Eagles now have a pair of injured quarterbacks, and ESPN reports that even Nick Foles is cleared  to play Week 8 after suffering a head injury Sunday, he’s unlikely to get another start if Michael Vick can go as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
