Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis on Sunday’s hard-fought win:

"“It’s a huge win up here today against a really good football team. It was a great football game. Hell of a game out there. Both sides of the ball. There are some things that obviously we have to keep doing better. We have to play better at third-down defense. Today was our achilles heel. We allowed them to convert on third down. We allowed them to convert third-down touchdowns. We played pretty good on first and second down, for the most part defensively today. Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson and the rest of the crew, hell of a group of guys that contained all day long.”"

On his young team showing maturity and mental toughness:

"“They have some stick-to-it-ness. We were able to do it. It’s big. We had a lot of guys go out of the game, back in the game, in to the game, out of the game and we just kept playing. That was good.”"

On overcoming injuries and guys stepping-up:

"“It is a good example and the fact that guys have to prepare like you’re the next guy up. There’s one thing to have depth, there’s the other thing to be professional about it and be ready to go when your number gets called. A guy like Dre Kirkpatrick today who plays a lot of snaps, it’s big. The D-line, (Devon) Still goes out and (Brandon) Thompson is in there, so (Chris) Crocker got to play more than we designed today. Chris Crocker saw, Taylor Mays gets put in to play more today. A lot of guys had to play more snaps defensively than we would have to expect them to normally have to play.”"
