It now looks like the Eagles may be willing to trade Sopoaga prior to the deadline:
My take: The reason the Bengals should consider him is due to the concern with defensive tackle Devon Still and his elbow injury that could knock him out for the rest of the regular season.
He should be placed on the injured reserve list. Still simply hasn’t played well-enough to warrant keeping him on the 53-man roster for the rest of the regular season.
If a defensive lineman like Sopoaga can be had for a late-round pick, the Bengals should strongly consider it. Sopoaga was acquired in the offseason after a productive career with the San Francisco 49ers. A 10-year veteran, the nose tackle has experience at both tackle spots, but has seen limited playing time only on base downs as he’;s notched 18 tackles in eight games.
