Oct 13, 2013; Baltimore, MD, USA; Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice (27) runs with the ball in the second quarter against the Green Bay Packers at M
Rice is on pace to rush for less than 600 yards, and the Ravens are on track to compile one of the worst rushing averages in NFL history. Bot to mention the Bengals rank 10th in stopping the run. Part of the problem for Rice is also a hip injury he’s been playing through for the majority of the season. Injuries to his offensive line and tight ends have caused his blocking to be less than stellar as well.
In other words, if you have Bernard or Rice on your team, it’s probably a good idea to downgrade Gio and Rice to flex options. And don’t even consider playing Gio’s backup, BenJarvus Green-Ellis. There may actually be some better plays on the waiver wire than any of those guys.
Both of these players have been weekly starters for most of the season (Rice more because of reputation), so you’ll need a solid player to replace them with, and there may be several options available.
