The Oakland Raiders’ Rashard Jennings is an obvious add with another Darren McFadden hamstring injury likely knocking him out this week vs the struggling New York Giants defense. Chris Ivory is also available in a lot of leagues, and he’s overcome Bilal Powell to be the New York Jets’ feature back, and they are one of the NFL’s better rushing teams. Both Ivory and Jennings are better plays this week than Bernard or Rice.
Jennings piled up 176 yards and a score last week after coming in for the oft-injured McFadden, who Head Coach Dennis Allen ruled out Friday. Jennings has accounted for 242 rushing and 171 receiving yards this season in limited touches, and now that he’s the feature back in an offense that thrives off of it’s run game, he could be a weekly starter going forward.
Against a Giants team that struggles against the run, Jennings will be a good sleeper play Sunday, and he’s likely available in your league. He should be viewed as a solid flex play this week, and is an easy replacement for Rice or Bernard.
