Coming into Thursday night’s National televised game the Bengals were trending way up, with a 2.5 game lead in the division, 4 game winning streak, AFC Player of the month, a crushing win over a top 5 defense in the Jets, and an offense that had finally come around for good. Then they made a trip to Miami on Halloween, where the Dolphins were looking like a franchise in turmoil riding a 4-game losing streak and a MIA left tackle.
The Bengals proceeded to play down to the competition and old friend Kevin Coyle showed Jay Gruden what a seasoned NFL coach can do with the power of an aggressive corner and strong defensive line. Overtime, safety, ballgame, Bengals go to 6-3.
The Bengals are getting a much-needed 10 day break between games, they will need all hands on deck for the 1st of two upcoming division games, where two wins could propel them to a near certain division championship. This week some players will have to step up and show this team is still a contender.
