Ok son, here you go it’s your opportunity, you were drafted in the third round last year and took a year to learn and get acclimated with the game. Your team needs you and this is what all that hard work was for, your chance, your time. The fortunate thing for the Bengals is that they are prepared for an injury on the defensive line with two defensive tackles selected last year and one defensive end taken this year. Thompson is an Ox in the weight room and has shown the ability to penetrate the line. Remember when Geno was a little known 4th round rotational lineman before he got his opportunity and flourished.
DE Carlos Dunlap
Money Money Money, MONEY! That had to the tune Carlos Dunlap had stuck in his head after a contract extension before the start of the season. Dunlap has been solid and his play in the run game has been really good. Warren Sapp made the comment on Thursday that Dunlap’s forced fumble on Lamar Miller was one the best plays he had seen from a defensive lineman.
With the Bengals paying for potential and flashes, Dunlap is going to have to step it up in the pass rush after recording 4 sacks in 9 games. He may also be asked to move to the inside and rush from the tackle position on nickel which in my opinion could be an effective move.
