The Cincinnati Bengals will be without safety Chris Crocker on Sunday, and in order to have an extra defensive back active in his place, the the team has called-up Tony Dye from the practice squad and waived cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris:

After spending the 2012 NFL season on the Injured Reserve list, Dye was hoping to snag a roster spot with the Bengals in 2013, and even challenge for playing time with so many questions at safety. But with the emergence of George Iloka and Shawn Williams being drafted, Dye was the odd-man out when final cuts came around.

Dye opened training camp with the Bengals last year and played in the preseason, but was placed on I.R. on August 31 due to an ankle injury suffered against. the New York Jets.

Dye played four seasons at UCLA (2008-11), amassing 207 tackles with one interception.

He also took time this offseason to give us an interview and talk about life in the NFL.
