A.J. Green defends Andy Dalton; Should he?

2 of 2

But the second one appeared to be more on Dalton’s poor read and equally poor pass to Green with the All-Pro Haden blanketing him:

Whether the first INT was his fault or not doesn’t really matter. Dalton can’t throw pick-sixes in the first quarter of a critical game like that. Lucky for him, the Browns went into complete meltdown mode in giving up two blocked punts and committing several turnovers themselves that led to easy scores.

Better teams won’t make those mistakes and allow Dalton to overcome his mistakes so easily. It is nice to see Green, as well as defensive end Michael Johnson defending their teammate. But even they know deep down inside that Dalton has to improve his play if they want to do anything in the postseason this year.
