One of the top defensive lineman prospects entering the 2013 college football season was Notre Dame defensive tackle Louis Nix. He is eligible to enter the NFL draft after this season, but has been sidetracked because of a meniscus injury that has hindered him for much of the year. He underwent a knee surgery and is done for the year.

In Todd McShay’s most recent rankings of draft prospects, Louis Nix was listed as his 6th best prospect. Here are his thoughts on him:

"Analysis: Nix is a disruptive, space-eating two-gap nose tackle. He has ideal size for the position, with a massive lower half, and has above-average lateral agility and quickness for his size. He has excellent snap anticipation and first-step quickness."

With him being out the rest of they year and his play this season not exactly being worthy of first-round consideration, his best hope of being a high draft pick is if scouts look back at his previous seasons’ production combined with his immense potential.

Don’t be surprised to see him declare or return to school, as his decision will likely come down to what the draft advisory board tells him.
