The News gets worse for the Cowboys, who will not have the quarterback of their defense for the rest of the year, as linebacker Sean Lee is out for the year, according to the NFL Network:

"NFL Network’s Desmond Purnell reports that Romo is out for the season with a back injury, according to a team source. Linebacker Sean Lee will also miss the rest of the season with a neck injury. ESPN first reported the Romo news. The news about Lee is not as surprising, but it should not be lost in the shuffle. He’s the team’s best defensive player, and arguably the best inside linebacker in football. The Cowboys defense is desperately thin at linebacker. Owner Jerry Jones previously expressed concern Lee is out for the season."

The Cowboys will now have to face a red-hot Eagles offense that just scored 54 points against the Chicago Bears, with Kyle Orton as their starter. Orton has played 12 snaps this season and attempted five passes.

Love him or hate him, this is a very unfortunate way to see Romo’s season end.
