The Minnesota Viking have some serious issues in their backfield. RB Adrian Peterson did not practice on Wednesday, and neither did Toby Gerhart. Matt Asiata only partially participated in Wednesday’s practice.

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo did not practice on Wednesday, and Jason Garrett said he’s is considered day-to-day. Garrett said Romo is receiving treatment and is fighting through the injury.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb has a “real chance” to return for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

The Detroit Lions were without RB Joique Bell and WR Calvin Johnson Wednesday as neither player practiced.

According to the Florida Times Union, the Jacksonville Jaguars want impending free agent RB Maurice Jones-Drew back “at a reasonable price with an adjusted role”.

According to the New York Daily News, there is belief around the New York Giants organization that RB David Wilson should never play football again.

The Denver Post expects re-signing WR Eric Decker to be Denver Broncos’ highest priority in free agency.

Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew may not be back with the team in 2014 after he was placed on I.R. Wednesday with a high ankle sprain, and is headed for unrestricted free agency.

One of the league’s biggest surprises this season might end up retiring after 2013, as Bears QB Josh McCown is not sure he’ll play next season.
