For much of the 2013 NFL Season, the biggest debate surrounding the Cincinnati Bengals has been whether or not Andy Dalton was the future of this franchise at the quarterback position.
A red-hot October followed by a less-than-stellar November didn’t help his cause much, as he was viewed as a streaky QB who benefited by the amount of weapons around him and a defense that could help make up for his mistakes and shortcomings.
But now in December when the Bengals have needed him to perform at his best, he’s come through and then some. In past 4 December games dating back to last year, Dalton has throw 10 touchdowns vs. just one interception and has a 108.1 QB rating.
And at 4,015 passing passing yards and 31 TD passes this year, he needs just 117 passing yards & two TD passes Sunday to break the Bengals single-season records.
One man who holds a few NFL passing records is Phil Simms, and count him as a believer that Dalton is the future in Cincinnati:
Phil Simms on Andy Dalton: "He's the guy here. For the writers, the fans, get over it. He's going to be here."
