6. Stop Matthews

One of the players that certainly has stepped up for the Chargers has been Ryan Matthews. Matthews has eclipsed 100 yards or more 5 of the Chargers last 7 games, although the Bengals defense held him to his lowest amount of rushing yards out of all the teams.

Matthews struggled in pass blocking, but the bengals should be aware of him catching out of the backfield as well. Zimmer would be smart to assign a defender to be on him most of the day is passing situations, such as Vincent Rey or Chris Crocker.

A shifty-quick runner, Matthews may cause some issues for the Bengals second level of defenders. Michael Johnson has been one of the best defensive ends against the run, so he will definitely have to show up today. If the Bengals can hold him to limited yardage, the Chargers may struggle on offense.
