The Steelers have had a very productive off-season after a stellar draft and free agent signings such as Blount. They are looking to reestablish their running game behind both Bell and Blount, and allow quarterback Ben Rothelisberger to play off its effectiveness the way he has done so successfully in the past.
These charges are only misdemeanors (other than the DUI), so they shouldn’t prove to be an insurmountable distraction for the Steelers as the season approaches. But after a down year in 2013, this news is certainly far from a welcomed site as the Steelers seek to redeem themselves. After starting last year incredibly slow by finishing the first half of the season with a 2-6 record, the Steelers then recovered in the second half by going 6-2. It was to little to late though as they finished just outside of the playoffs behind the 9-7 Chargers.
Between this issue with the Steelers, the numerous arrests the Ravens have suffered over the past year, and the legal issues of Browns owner Jimmy Haslam’s company, the Bengals are looking like the good guys in the division as they done much over the past few years to shed their troubled image from the past.
