Bengals Cut Veteran Safety Danieal Manning

In a bit of a surprising move, the Bengals have decided to cut ties with veteran safety Danieal Manning.

Manning was signed by the Bengals this off-season following his release from the Houston Texans. New Bengals’ secondary coach Vance Joseph has a rapport with Manning, which probably was one of the main reasons for his signing. Manning was thought capable to filling the void left by Chris Crocker when he followed Mike Zimmer to Minnesota earlier this off-season. Clearly the Bengals felt otherwise, even after Manning’s pick six in the team’s final preseason game. Manning doesn’t seem to bothered by the process nor the decision when speaking to ESPN’s Coley Harvey.

Manning seemed ready for this decision. Hopefully he’ll find another opportunity elsewhere, but it seems he’s at peace either way and may look for other opportunities to utilize his football knowledge.
