With the start of a new NFL season comes the start of a new fantasy football season! Last year, it was estimated that approximately 25.8 million people in the U.S. play fantasy football and that an estimated 1.78 billion dollars was spent on it. So to say that fantasy football is popular is the understatement of the century.
If you’re like many, your always looking for the sleeper, unknown, or sneaky start that has a chance to push your team over the top and to a win. The first week is a great time to do this before others realize their mistakes, and some of the potential gems out there. So whether you’re in a 10, 12, 14 man, PPR or standard, season or weekly league, here is a guy from each position who is flying under the radar and might be worth a second look.
QB – Shaun Hill, St. Louis Rams

This years Josh McCown? Probably not, but Hill is no stranger to starting for an injured quarterback, having done it multiple times in his career and being effective. For fantasy purposes he would be a deep sleeper, however if you’re in a two quarterback league I think surely you start him over a guy like Jake Locker vs the Chiefs. I know that the Vikings have Mike Zimmer running the show, but last year they gave up the most points to opposing QBs. For example, Brian Hoyer had over 300 yard and 3TDs! For this reason alone, Shaun Hill is worth consideration if you need a quarterback.
