Week two is here and hopefully your fantasy football team fared well in the first week.  We saw some of the usual studs impress, but we also saw some of them produce a dud. This week has some interesting storylines and match-ups that can be exploited if you’re a fantasy owner. Remember though not to over think your roster, don’t pick up a guy off waivers and drop/sit a proven talent. Here are my week two fantasy football sneaky starts.

QB – Matt Cassell, Minnesota Vikings

Yes that Matt Cassell.  With Adrian Peterson out, Cassell will have to throw more this week.

There is also no denying that he has a certified stud emerging at wide receiver in Cordarrelle Patterson.  He also has a nice young tight end in Kyle Rudolph and a solid veteran receiver in Greg Jennings. Cassell isn’t going to go for 400 yards, but 250 and a couple TD’s is not unreasonable.

RB – Shonn Greene, Tennessee Titians

Fantasy football owners are always looking for a quality running back.  The lazy pick here would be Matt Asiata in the wake of the Adrian Peterson deactivation, but I’m going to go a different route with Shonn Greene. The Titans surprised everyone the first week by going into Kansas City and stomping the Chiefs. This week they get a, how do you say, not good Dallas defense that gave up 144 yards on the ground last week. If the Titans build a lead look for Greene to get 20 touches.

WR – Andrew Hawkins, Cleveland Browns

For the second straight week he makes the list and, if you start him this week, you will be rewarded. With what looks like no Jordan Cameron this week, Brian Hoyer has to throw the ball to someone.

This week the Browns will be playing catch up against the Saints and Hawkins turned 10 targets last week into eight catches.  A must start in PPR leagues. He’s still owned in only 30% of yahoo leagues.

TE – Levine Toilolo, Atlanta Falcons

Who? The 6’8 265 lb monster is the 4th/5th option in the Falcons passing attack. But he could see a lot of work this week against a Bengals defense that let Dennis Pitta run wild last week giving up 25 points to the Baltimore TE’s. Where Toilolo could really reward is in the redzone where the Bengals will focus their efforts towards outside receivers Roddy White and Julio Jones.
