The Ride Back
– At this point many of you can assume that I was pretty burnt on the way back. Once I was in the train the heckling simmered down, but the physicality did not stop. I had people running up to the window of my seat and ramming into my seat window. I heard multiple “**** Cincinnati’s”. I also had people trying to punch me through the window.
The best part of this whole day was when the train started moving at its supersonic speed of 15 mph. It took us a hour and a half to get back to South Station. From there because they only run a couple of rail cars through the subway that late specifically for the game, they were not all on time. At this point it is 1:00 and I am halfway though the subway system, and it got its timing mechanism messed up.
We sat there in the rail car for 30 minutes before it finally fixed its problem. We did not arrive back to my hotel until 2:30. Some of us had a flight to catch a 9:30 in the morning so we were pretty burnt.
