Fantasy Football Week 15: Sneaky Starts

In many leagues the fantasy football playoffs have started or will begin this week.  Last week saw several letdowns from consistent fantasy stars such as Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and Jimmy Graham.  My playoff philosophy is, unless they are battling a significant injury, you have to play who got you there.  However, there comes a time when you have to take some chances and capitalize on some lesser known talent that won’t leave a gaping hole in your points total.  Here is this weeks “Sneaky Starts.”

QB – Mark Sanchez, Philadelphia Eagles

Who would have thought that after the “butt fumble,” Mark Sanchez would ever become a viable NFL quarterback again? Well he has been exactly what the Eagles have needed, and with exception of last week in Seattle, he has also been a solid fantasy option as well.  This week he plays at home versus the Dallas Cowboys who are giving up and average of 24 points to opposing quarterbacks the last five weeks.

RB – Jonathan Stewart, Carolina Panthers

Stewy was a “man” last week totaling 155 yards for the Panthers’ offense.  With DeAngelo Williams still out, look for Stewart to be leaned on with Cam Newton also out this week.  The Panthers suddenly are back in the playoff mix and conventional wisdom says they stay with what works, the run game.

WR – Marquess Wilson, Chicago Bears

Wilson, who has been on IR for most of the year, will step into the number two spot for Brandon Marshall.  He has super potential this week to put up big points when facing Rob Ryan’s Saints defense.  Grab Wilson and plug him in your fantasy football lineups as a WR 4/flex if nothing else.

TE – Jordan Cameron, Cleveland Browns

The Browns tight end has had a disappointing year, but he has big time potential this week against a reeling Bengals defense.  I am going to predict that Cameron has his best game of the year this week. If ever you were going to start him this is the week.
