Dane Sanzenbacher suffered a season ending concussion, as the Bengals placed him on the injured reserve list. He had suffered a concussion in the loss to the Steelers. The Bengals announced the move on twitter. They also announced the promotion of Cobi Hamilton from the practice squad to fill his spot.
Sanzenbacher’s season ends with 105 yards receiving on nine completions. He also got an interception on a fake field goal in the Sunday night loss to the Steelers. It was his best season with the Bengals and his best season since his rookie year in Chicago. He did have a fumble lost this season as well.
Cobi Hamilton was drafted in the sixth round in 2013 and was signed to the Eagles practice squad in September. He was resigned to the Bengals practice squad in October, after Marvin Jones was placed on the IR. Sunday’s matchup will be the first opportunity to see game time since college and pre-season football.
Hamilton will play a key role in the wide receiver depth chart. AJ green has yet to clear concussion protocol and if he can not go then Mohammed Sanu, Brandon Tate, and Cobi Hamilton will take the lead in the WR roles against the Colts.
