The Cincinnati Bengals enter training camp with several key players in contract seasons. With nine upcoming starters on the final year of their contracts, the Bengals have a lot of work to do to ensure that they don’t lose their key talent.

From the team’s top three wide receivers in A.J. Green, Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu to its bookend offensive tackles, Andrew Whitworth and Andre Smith, the Bengals’ offense is littered with players who could end up becoming free agents.

And for Cincinnati, things are looking just as dreary on defense.

The Bengals’ superstar safety tandem of Reggie Nelson and George Iloka, a duo that led the NFL’s safety duos in combined passes defensed and interceptions, are both pending free agents. Along with this safety duo are Leon Hall, one of Cincinnati’s longest tenured defenders and Emmanuel Lamur, the team’s best coverage linebacker.

With so much talent that could possibly be lost, the Bengals have a lot to do in order to before the preseason ends. For this reason, I’m only going to focus on five individuals who the Bengals absolutely must lock up before training camp comes to a close.
