Cincinnati Bengals: Wide Receiver Trade Options

2 of 4

Trade Option One: DE Margus Hunt for Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson

The Bengals dial up old friend Mike Zimmer and make a swap of two players with loads of potential but minimal production. Zimmer is looking to get his trademark rotation from his defensive line in Minnesota and Hunt would give him a piece he missed out on Michael Johnson in free agency. I’ll admit that I was banging the table for Patterson when he was on the board during the 2013 draft. He showed promise during his rookie year scoring 7 touchdowns and is a very good kick returner.

Trade Option Two: RT Andre Smith for WR Jeremy Kerley and a 6th round pick

This is the first of two potential trades involving Andre Smith and should they look to trade him I think he has a lot of value. With quality starting level tackles hard to come by and the fact the Bengals took tackles in the 1st and 2nd round this year, Andre clearly is entering his last year with the Bengals. Kerley is an interesting guy because he hasn’t had very competent/consistent quarterback play his whole career. Kerley had his best season in 2012 where he turned 56 catches into 827 yards. Kerley also can help out in the return game. So, why not reunite him with his college quarterback Andy Dalton
