The Cincinnati Bengals open up training camp today and with many players entering camp with job security, there are a few out there who will be playing for a spot on the 53-man roster. Brian has already pointed out this morning that there are a few new faces and with 90 players on the current active roster, cutting the team down will be both easy and difficult in many ways.
Position battles will be heating up and players that had unimpressive off season workouts and mini-camps, will need to step it up in order to make the roster. New faces like Mario Alford and C.J. Uzomah will be looking to make some noise and stand out. Some are not even worried about their spot this season but next season when their contracts expire. They will need to show the Bengals that they are worth another contract.
The questions heading into camp aren’t about who is starting in September, but who will be in stripes when the dust settles.
