Well okay, that’s more like it. The Cincinnati Bengals used their preseason tuneup game to squash any doubts and reactions from the disaster in Tampa last Monday night. Both the offense and defense looked light years better after a humbling experience against the Buccaneers. With two weeks to prepare for the Oakland Raiders the Bengals used their dress rehearsal to undress da Bears. Here are my initial reactions to the game.

1. Are Those Weapons Registered!

With so many weapons on the the offensive side of the ball, it’s exciting to see the offense move the ball with such efficiency. During a sideline interview, A.J. Green was asked how the offense will be able to get so many talented playmakers involved. Green’s responded by saying that it doesn’t matter who gets the ball, as long as the Bengals come out on top. Last night, Cincinnati’s offense was balanced and did a good job spreading the ball around with ease. Green, Jones, Eifert, Burkhead, and Eifert all caught two passes on the night.

2. He’s Baaaaacccccckk

Geno Atkins is back and causing big problems for opposing offensive lineman. Take a look at the play below; Atkins pushes Bears guard Matt Slauson back towards the quarterback so fast that it looks like Slauson is wearing a pair of roller skates. Geno was also a force in the run game as well, slicing through the offensive line for a tackle. He is by far the most important player on the defense, and teams will have to constantly double-team Atkins, freeing up the rest of the D-line to do some damage.
