Kevin Huber had himself a day, launching five punts for 219 yards (43.8-yard average) with a net average of 38.4 yards. Two of Huber’s punts landed inside the 20-yard line, one at the 10-yard line and one at the seven.
Mike Nugent connected on both of his field goals, kicked four touchbacks on kickoffs and added three of four extra points, one of which was blocked.
Clark Harris snapped the ball well and slowed a Raiders returner down before another Bengal made a tackle on a punt return. He did all you can do as a long-snapper, putting it in Huber’s hands on each punt and PAT.
The Bengals didn’t make an impact in the return game; Brandon Tate needs to step up or the Bengals should replace him.
Grade: B
The Bengals now fly back to Cincinnati as the top team in the AFC North after each of the other three teams in the division lost their Week 1 matchups. The team made a solid effort across the board, and the results showed in the Bengals’ victory. The Bengals have me excited; you should be excited too! We’re 1-0 and will head back to Cincinnati to take on the San Diego Chargers next Sunday.
