It’s crazy to see how quickly young players have been developing in the NFL, and these three linebackers are perfect examples of how dominant young guys can be.
Alec Ogletree has 42 tackles, two sacks and four stuffs on the season. He’s been a consistent force on the Rams’ defense, which dominated against both the Seahawks and Cardinals in surprise upsets. Anthony Barr has been an animal this season, recording 26 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, two pass deflections, a stuff and a 32-yard interception. These guys have both played great football so far, and they look like they could be dominant for years to come.
Preston Brown makes the team at 4-3 MLB mostly due to an absence of difference-making middle linebackers in 4-3 defenses. Both Luke Kuechly and Bobby Wagner are having down seasons through four weeks, but Brown has shone. Although his play has been a bit inconsistent through four weeks, Preston Brown has compiled 36 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, two interceptions, 46 interception return yards, three pass deflections, two stuffs and a defensive touchdown. Brown has done everything, and the Bills are a better team because of it.
