NFC East Getting Interesting

The NFC East is finally getting interesting. While the Giants have taken the lead in the division, the other teams are not very far away. The Giants have been suffering from the injury bug on the offensive side and can’t stop the past on the defensive side. Therefore, their hold on the division is certainly not a lock. The Eagles on the other hand actually look like they know how to play football. Chip Kelly seems to be getting his team ready. The Giants and eagles will square off on Monday night.

Down in Washington, the Redskins look like a decent team. They have been playing well against solid opponents lately. Although what truly makes this division interesting is the Dallas Cowboys. Without Romo, the Cowboys have lost three in a row under Brandon Weeden. However, the Cowboys are getting healthy. Greg Hardy and Rolando McClain are back to help Sean Lee, Christine Michael has learned the offense and will see more carries, first round talent La’el Collins is starting at left guard and Dez Bryant & Randall Gregory are almost back in action. Also Matt Cassel is now the starting quarterback. There is a lot to like about the Cowboys and the NFC East right now.

Kansas City Done for the Season

There is no denying that Jamaal Charles was the engine to the Kansas City chiefs’ offense. After Charles went down with a torn ACL, the Chiefs season may have went down with him. Already at 1-4 on the season, the Chiefs will take on a Minnesota Vikings team who is strong on defense.

While the Chiefs do have Knile Davis and  Charcandrick West to run the ball, the lack of a passing game will certainly make this team more one dimensional. If West and Davis can’t pick up the production left from Jamal Charles we could see the Chiefs looking into free agency for some help at the running back and wide receiver position. Stay tune, perhaps we could see Wes Welker and Montee Ball in a Chiefs uniform.

Eyes on RGIII?

With Robert Griffin III riding the bench so far this season while waiting for week 18, the question then becomes which quarterback needy team is looking at Robert Griffin. Houston, Chicago, Detroit possibly even Philadelphia, San Francisco and Miami.

Robert Griffin III is a starting caliber quarterback. As he approaches free agency at the conclusion of this season, there will certainly be some suitors waiting for his services. My best bet would be Robert Griffin III heading back home to Texas to play for the really quarterback needy team, the Houston Texans. However, if Houston gets the number 1 overall pick, they would be smart to take TCU QB Trevone Boykin.
