1. EJ Manuel vs. Bengals Defense

Rex Ryan has hinted that Tyrod Taylor will start this game, but that’s probably more to keep the Bengals on their toes than anything else. Manuel will get the start, so watching him take on an aggressive Bengals defense should be interesting. Cincinnati’s pass rush, led by Carlos Dunlap and Geno Atkins, could be in Manuel’s face all game long.

But don’t write Manuel off just yet. He had a fantastic preseason and could be much better than he’s been in the past. Plus, with an opportunity to show off what he’s got, Manuel could be playing to convince another team that he’s a starting-caliber quarterback.

Whether Manuel can succeed against Cincinnati’s defense will likely determine this game. If he can move the ball and help the Bills’ offense score some points, his defense will likely have his back and prevent the Bengals from running up the score. Buffalo could actually win this game, but it’s going to take a strong effort from EJ Manuel to make that happen.
