The Cincinnati Bengals had their worst game of the season offensively on Monday night. Now the 8-1 Bengals must find a way to make short memory of the game and prepare for the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday Night Football. Before we do that here at Stripe Hype, we take a look at how each position did yesterday.
Quarterback: B-
Andy Daltonwill not be shaking the Prime Time name if he puts up another performance like this one, next week. It wasn’t that Dalton was terrible but he struggled to find receivers and over threw
Marvin Jonesin the third quarter for an interception. He wasn’t the Dalton we have seen so far this season.
He went 22 for 38 (57.89%) for 197 yards and one interception. Still not terrible for Andy Dalton except for no touchdowns, which was the first of the season for him. If it wasn’t for the interception, he would have gotten a B grade from me. The issue was all of the penalties, illegal formation for a lineman lined up on the line? Come on NFL. His protection wasn’t the best either, we will talk about that in a few slides.
Overall, Dalton’s performance wasn’t really the issue and although the refs didn’t help, they also have overcome penalties plenty of times this season. The issue was a poor offensive performance by others, including Hue Jackson, again another slide. Dalton deserved better last night.
