The Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers have split the 2015 regular season match up. Now, they will face off once again in Cincinnati for the AFC Wildcard and the right to play one of the top two teams in the conference next week. It is now win or go home time and both teams hope to extend their season at least one more week.
The Cincinnati Bengals will be without starting quarterback Andy Dalton, who fractured his right thumb in the week 14 match up against the Steelers. A.J. McCarron will get his fourth start of the season and has a little more game time under his belt, unlike the first time he faced the Steelers. He has yet to throw an interception in all three starts and will look to continue that streak against a secondary that has been beaten and battered the last two week.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without DeAngelo Williams, who suffered a sprained ankle in their week 17 match up against the Cleveland Browns. They have also been without Le’Veon Bell, who is on injured reserve, since week eight when Vontaze Burfict tackled him on the sideline, tearing his ACL. The Steelers will turn to a second year back, Fitzgerald Toussaint, for the primary running back duties. The Bengals will have only limited tape and scouting reports to have prepared with for the week.
The Bengals defense, who is ranked second in the league for points against, will look to stop the high powered passing offense of the Steelers, led by Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers rank fifth in passing yards. The Steelers look to one of the best balanced offenses the Bengals have had in years. Jeremy Hill is coming off a spectacular performance against the Baltimore Ravens and will look to continue his success on the ground this week.
