Cincinnati Bengals: Vincent Rey is Back in Stripes

The Cincinnati Bengals signed their fifth free agent on Thursday with the addition of linebacker Vincent Rey.
Vincent Rey was high on many peoples list after having a solid season alongside Vontaze Burfict and Rey Maualuga. Last season’s 95 tackles, one sack, one interception, and two tackles for loss, proved his value to this Bengals defense.

Rey’s contract comes at a cost of $11.5 million over three years, which averages out to just above $3.82 million dollars a year. Rey will make right around the same as Vontaze Burfict this season, before Burfict’s suspension.
He will be immediately tested as Burfict is suspended for the first three games. Although they have missed Burfict in the past and been fine, losing Emmanuel Lamur will not help; with P.J. Dawson, A.J. Hawk, and potentially adding a draft pick to that depth, the linebacking corps should be fine.
The Cincinnati Bengals have now signed George Iloka, Brandon Tate, Adam Jones, Eric Winston, and Vincent Rey. They are close to being set on defense and still need a a few skill players on offense, especially with both Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu headed to other teams.
