CB: Cortland Finnegan
The Bengals are allowing Leon Hall to walk free this offseason, which leaves them with some depth questions in the defensive secondary. Adam Jones will be back, but can he stay healthy, same with Darqueze Dennard, and Dre Kirkpatrick has been fairly consistent, but behind those three, the Bengals are playing with questions.
Cortland Finnegan is not only a strong depth player but could step into a starting role, when called on. The former Titan, turned Panther, and now free agent, has a lot of upside including his experience in the playoffs. He helped the Panthers defense to a 15-1 record and a NFC Championship, something most Bengals fans are begging for.
Finnegan had retired after 2014 but came back in 2015 when Charles Tillman was out with injuries. He continued to work out, even though he had retired, showing as a depth player, he could come cheap but his workout regiment proves that he wants to continue to play football.
Finnegan could, at a minimum, become a camp invite and be given a roster bonus if he makes the team. If not, then they don’t really lose much. The Bengals could be facing a low risk but solid reward move, if it works out in their favor.
