Bengals Fantasy Football Preview: A.J. McCarron

Chances are McCarron isn’t in your plans to win a Fantasy Title, but what exactly can he bring to your team?
As long as Andy Dalton is the starting QB for the Cincinnati Bengals, A.J. McCarron is probably not worthy of a draft pick, but depending the depth of your league or if you are drafting Dalton and handcuffing the QB, is A.J. McCarron worth having on your team?
In his time on the field last season we were definitely impressed with what A.J. McCarron brought to the table, and after an off season that his trade value was discussed…Myself included on that one, we now know the plan is for A.J. McCarron to be on the roster as the backup QB for the Bengals in 2016.
Making appearances in seven regular season games McCarron racked up a stat line of 854 yards passing with six Touchdowns and just two interceptions while posting a QB rating of 97.1 in his regular season action.

Obviously the biggest game that McCarron played in last season was the post season game against the Pittsburgh Steelers where he was a highly recommended add for your DFS leagues.
ESPN.com Fantasy Sports writer Mike Clay lists A.J. McCarron as the 36th rated QB in Dynasty Leagues and a tier 6 player at his position with players like Buffalo Bills rookie QB Cardale Jones and Tampa Bay Buccaneers backup QB Mike Glennon.
So the question comes, is McCarron worthy of your dynasty league play or if you think that Dalton’s thumb injury could come back, then yeah by all means make sure you add McCarron to your team. Otherwise, you probably need that additional RB, WR or TE for that spot.
