Andy Dalton Will Be A Beast

In the five years since Andrew Gregory Dalton has been in Bengals stripes, he’s come of age. Dalton has been labeled as a quarterback that can’t win the “big game.” But, if you’re the type that loves to witness change, get on the bandwagon. Dalton’s season was cut short by a Week 14 thumb fracture. Until that point, he was in the running for NFL MVP honors.

Even with his year being cut short by injury, Dalton had a monster year. The Bad Andy tagline was dumped for New Andy. The rise in his statistical ratings were phenomenal. His passer rating (106.3) and completion percentage (66.1) both took a shot of Red Bull. Those numbers were career-highs.

The new approach came from his time spent with the NFL’s new guru of mechanics. Tom House and his staff took a look at what Dalton was doing and gave him the keys to the kingdom. They reworked his style and got him on track. The training time with House went so well, Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson is sending Robert Griffin III to the mechanics master.

Not only was Dalton a different signal-caller under center, he was more outspoken. There was a change in the Red Rifle that could be felt by all his teammates. Andrew Whitworth was moved to hand the team captain reigns over to his quarterback. Coley Harvey of ESPN got the skinny from Dalton.

"“It’s just the full control and making sure everybody’s on the same page. Just making sure everybody’s doing the right thing. Pushing guys to be the best that they can be. That’s what’s going to help us win games, and that’s what’s going to help this team be the best.”"

Look for more of the same, as a healthy Dalton returns.
