After a big offseason contract extension, will Bernard continue to be a PPR Weapon?
Going into his fourth season with the Bengals, Giovani Bernard has become quite the weapon for the Bengals offense. Not just for running the ball, but as a pass catcher out of the backfield. If you are a Fantasy Football player–if you’re reading this article you probably are–only three letters come to mind: PPR or Points Per Reception. The speedy Bernard may just be one of the ultimate PPR weapons for your team.
Exactly how balanced is Bernard between rushing and passing? Let’s put it this way. He may be small in stature, but he packs a punch on the field.
The line on Bernard, for his career, is amazing. On the ground, he’s racked up 492 carries for 2,105 yards and 12 touchdowns. Through the air, Bernard has snagged 148 receptions for 1,335 yards and five touchdowns. All of this while splitting carries with BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Hill throughout his career.

If Bernard were a bell cow running back, it’d be very easy to list him as a RB1 for this years Fantasy drafts. The ability to continuously make plays and help this team win will always make him an interesting prospect for your team.
Matthew Berry of ESPN rates Bernard as the 35th Running back. As a PPR Back Bernard is rated 33rd. Seeing him in mock drafts around the 7th round. But, in a PPR Format could definitely make a 5th round argument.
If you’re looking for the perfect fit, don’t hesitate. Get Bernard and watch the points mount up. You won’t regret it.
