A.J. Green is the Bengals top receiver. But, should he be your top fantasy receiver prospect?

A.J. Green has been a top Fantasy Football Wide Receiver since he entered the league. We all obviously expect this to continue. Year in and year out, we have seen Green perform as one of the best players in the league, at his respected position. After his fifth season of 1000 yards to start his career and another 10 touchdown season Green will be rated among the best at his position going into this fantasy season.

A.J. is normally rated as a 2nd round pick in Fantasy drafts and that will stay the same with this season. Although players like Antonio Brown, Julio Jones and Odell Beckham Jr are getting looks in Round 1, Green cannot be too far behind those guys.

Where those players benefit that A.J. does not, they each don’t have another big time running mate that takes targets away from them where A.J. has Tyler Eifert who lead all tight ends in touchdowns in the 2016 season.

ESPN Fantasy Football expert Matthew Berry has Green as the 7th rated wideout right behind Jordy Nelson and Dez Bryant, two players who battled injury in the 2015 season. Mike Clay, also of espn.com, listed Green as the fifth player at his position, in his PPR (Points per reception) rankings for the 2016 Fantasy Football season. Clay placed Brown, Beckham, Jones and DeAndre Hopkins slightly ahead of Green, in the PPR format.

Green may be without Eifert, for Week 1, but will be going up against New York Jets Corner Darelle Revis. Many consider him to be one of the best corners in the game. But in their last match up, Green had a stat line of 5 catches for 85 yards and a Touchdown.

Nothing less will be expected than top-tier wide receiver play from A.J. Green this season, if he is there in the middle of Round 2, you have to snag him before your buddy tells you about it all season.
