A Mass Exodus

Remember when the Bengals were in the playoffs for five straight years? Well, that may not be happening for a while. With players leaving in droves, Cincinnati is starting to look like a team that is more interested in junking the original plan and dealing with the consequences. No one expected the Bengals to chase Margus Hunt. The Cincinnati Enquirer confirmed that he’s going to be doing something with the Colts. He never blossomed as an edge rusher.

More from Bengals Free Agency

Over the past year, the Bengals have lost five impact players that gave the team a certain dynamic. If Rex Burkhead decides to leave, it’s time to look deeper than the money aspect. Greedy sports agents will always be the bane of most teams trying to re-sign players. But, when the actions are like a bad recurring nightmare, there have to be some underlying issues.

Karlos Dansby said he wanted to win a ring with Cincinnati. When Trevor Roach decided to retire, he felt the Bengals no longer had a chance to win it all. It’s time to be real and face the facts. The window of opportunity for this team has gotten extremely small. Maybe the players know something and they ain’t talkin.’ Maybe…just maybe…things aren’t what they seem in the Nati.
