With A Strong Draft Bengals Can Compete In 2017

Day 2 difference makers
Of course, we don’t know what direction the Bengals will go in round one. So, that being said, here are some of the best prospects in rounds two and three. If Lewis is still looking for pass rusher when Friday comes around, Derek Rivers of Youngstown St. should be high on the wish list. Rivers has great burst off the line and also shows great athleticism. Ohio’s Tarell Basham and Carl Lawson of Auburn are both explosive defensive ends who could be steals in the second round.
If WR is the need at this point, Josh Reynolds of Texas A&M is a guy that could bring back playmaking ability reminiscent of Chris Henry. Other explosive options include Carlos Henderson and Zay Jones. This will also be a prime spot for running back. Joe Mixon of Oklahoma will be the hot name. Mixon comes with a history and would be controversial, but just from a football standpoint, he may be the most talented back in the draft. Kareem Hunt is a guy I like a lot. Hunt is another guy with excellent burst and I believe he will be a thousand yard back for years to come. Other names to remember are D’onta Foreman (who lead the nation in rushing), Alvin Kamara of Tennessee and Jamaal Williams of BYU.
Keep an eye out on linebackers Jarrad Davis and Raekwon McMillan, who both could become big time playmakers. Offensive linemen Dan Feeney, Pat Elflein, Ethan Pocic, Roderick Johnson and defensive linemen Caleb Brantley and Chris Wormley are all guys that can provide depth and potentially become future starters.
