Adding Joe Mixon shows Bengals’ true colors

The Bengals Didn’t “Need” Him, Especially, In Round 2
Not only do the already have a solid starting running back, but the Bengals have two high-caliber backs in Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard. The 24-year-old Hill is looking to rebound from a down year and the 25-year-old Bernard is recovering well from a Torn ACL suffered late in the 2016 season. When healthy, both players are a formidable 1-2 punch.
While running back depth is critical to the success of any team, the position should also be considered a dime a dozen. Unless you have a dedicated bell-cow, like Ezekiel Elliott or Le’Veon Bell, you need a stable of backs to get the job done. It’s clear the Bengals at this point are looking to a future that doesn’t include Bernard or Hill. However, both are still young and have their best years ahead of them. It’s silly to spend this high of a draft selection on a player with a checkered past. Especially since this draft was filled with plenty of quality in the later rounds.
