You Know The Saying

Speaking of championships, that’s what defense wins. The Bengals are going ham trying to fix the X’s. Well, maybe not ham. But, the unit has been given a new look. Kevin Minter was a surprise free agent pickup who isn’t…over the hill. Bené Benwikere has gotten lost in the draft madness. But, he’ll play a vital role in the secondary. With the Adam Jones script still being written, Lewis and Co. will be looking for that heavy hitter who’ll stand out.

It’s time to unveil the big guns. William Jackson should be on the field. But, after sitting out the season with a torn pectoral muscle, this may be his “real” rookie sideline stint. Unless Marvelous Marv decides to break his own rules, there’ll be an intense battle for position on the depth chart.

Before the season starts, the Bengals defense needs to get an attitude check. Geno Atkins once again made NFL Network’s Top 100 list. His attitude and desire have to be the hallmark for the entire unit. Passion and drive of that caliber will certainly get the Bengals a playoff win…and ticket to LII.
